Recently the Friends received a £36,000 donation from The Randolph Caldecott Collections Charity to pay for a future exhibition on the life and works of Randolph Caldecott. Randolph was born in Chester and worked for some years at The Whitchurch and Ellesmere Bank during which time he sketched the views and wildlife that he saw on his travels on behalf of the bank.
The picture shows the Friends Chair John Benbow (L) accepting the cheque from Bob Evans (R) representing the Randolph Caldecott Charity.
