A key role
The Friends of SM&AG charity plays a key role in ensuring that the Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery is a first-class museum.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions help us to:
- contribute to the purchase of items for the collections such as the Gold Angel for the medieval gallery
- purchase cases of top quality in which to display valuable items such as the Roman silver mirror
- provide financial help for the conservation of items on display in the galleries such as the Wroxeter forum inscription
- support educational projects and replace items such as toys and costumes
- support special exhibitions
- help SM&AG to produce videos promoting the collection
Member involvement
Our members also become involved in practical activities by:
- helping to raise funds
- participating in the production of leaflets like Ten Things to See which is distributed to visitors
- helping with research for projects like the planned Friends’ exhibition
- promoting SM&AG as a resource for the local community and visitors to our town.
