Costume capers at the Museum

The Curators and Curatorial Volunteers at the Shropshire Museum’s Collections Centre continue to work on repacking and production of a detailed catalogue of the Costume Collection.

The picture shows one of the items recently inspected. It is a simple net shawl that was made during the First World War and was knitted by Queen Mary for auction by the Onibury Mother’s Union to raise funds for the purchase of wool to knit socks for the troops on the front line.
